The module contains information, reflection questions, and several measurement moments to gather insights and sentiment. The modules can be shared via a platform, internal newsletter, or e-learning tool.

Recognizing the Silent Signals

Objective: To learn how to recognize, name, and address subtle forms of unsafety.

Introduction: Not all unsafety is visible or openly expressed. Sometimes tensions are felt without being spoken about. When we learn to recognize those signals, we can start conversations earlier and prevent escalation.

Content:

  • Examples of silent signals: falling silent around certain colleagues, not daring to ask questions, tension during meetings.
  • Recognizing micro-exclusion: systematically skipping someone, not inviting someone, dismissing responses as “difficult”.

Reflection Questions:

  • What do you notice in your team when it comes to unspoken tensions?

  • Do you recognize signals in yourself, such as withdrawing or avoiding?

Mini-poll:
“I feel free to address unsafe situations.” (Strongly agree – Strongly disagree)

Closing: Naming silent signals takes courage. But it’s the first step toward change.
